I have arrived!

For the most part my flights did run like clock work. My flight into Paris went well with only a little turbulence near the end of the flight. A couple of nice things about flying Air France that I liked is that I was on a plane that had personal video players for each seat so you could watch your own selected movie. The other nice thing is that they are still serving wine and beer for free on the flights. I say a flight always goes well with a little wine to relax. It seems that only the foreign carriers are still doing this.

One thing I kind of like from a traveler's viewpoint is that you now don't have to fill out an entrance form going into France. You now just bring your passport to immigration and they kind of just look at it and stamp it. I don't know how they know you are there for a vacation or what but that is how they are doing it here. Also, no custom forms need to be filled out. Talk about a simple process but how do they kick the ones out that they don't want them staying?

You know it is a good thing I put in enough time between landing in Paris and taking off for Rome. I ended up waiting for 1-1\2 hours to check my bag in for an Air France flight. They only had two and sometimes one person working the counter. What I found funny is that a lot of the french travelers were upset about this and yet when they finally got to the counter, they too took up a lot of time. I don't know why people can't be organized when they check in. Plus I don't know if Air France had to make cuts and that is why they didn't have enough people working the counters or maybe this is normal.

As far as the rest of the day, I basically just people watched while waiting for my next flight and when I was on the flight. It looked like a lot of french were traveling for holiday to Rome especially with their children. The plane was packed.

Well I am going to admit that I was glad to pay the 45 euros to my B&B. I was in no mood to take a train and cab or subway to my B&B. It was nice having a driver with a mercedes show up to pick me up from the airport. From the small area I walked around my B&B, the B&B and area are very nice and it is only a block from the castle near the Vatican.

Well I need to take a shower and hopefully go to bed soon. I am looking forward to tomorrow and hope to post some good pictures for you.
